Unity Level Designer

About the Position
As our Level Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the world of our games in development using Unity. From greyboxing to set dressing, lighting and environmental events. You will also need to explain thoughts as well as plan out the flow of an area. So if you are passionate about designing levels, we would love to hear from you.
The Responsibilities
- Working with blockouts, building areas adding set-dressing and encounters
- Implementation of levels using Unity and our in-house tools
- Building areas from start to finish
- Setting up lighting, environmental effects and events
- Keeping an eye on how to make and use assets to ensure the level design fits with the world dof Core Decay
- Understanding how the overall game design works in collaboration with our design team and creative management.
Your Profile
You have at least 2-3 years of experience working in the video games industry and developing games in Unity, with 1 or more published titles in a game or level design role. Apart from the technical skills, you should also be able to effortlessly and effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing with empathy and patience.
What You Need to Have
- 2-3 years of experience in designing games with Unity. You don’t need to know all the systems, but it is a big plus if you are a master of Unity, from pathfinding to prefab variants to particles and everything in between.
- Be able to prioritize and delegate tasks as well as give and take constructive feedback
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- A solid understanding of level design fundamentals and how to use them
Beyond the requirements above, it is a must that you have a portfolio to show your previous work and there will preferably be a level design test.
